Our Story
We are Trapper’s Daughter.
Our goal is to save our ancestors’ garments from extinction to lessen the carbon footprint on clothing manufacturing and production. Our ancestors worked hard to craft these items from their hands, and we like the idea of “trapping” these garments for future generations. Trapper’s Daughter provides carefully curated vintage, dead stock, and one-of-a-kind handmade pieces designed by us, using recycled materials. Our brand is inspired by, and honors our hometown of Winona, Minnesota.
Any fur/leather is vintage, recycled, or a byproduct. We’re choosing to use vintage fur/leather because we don’t like the idea of something our ancestors purchased being thrown into a landfill when they worked hard for years to buy those pieces. We are dedicated to sustainability through in-house ethical production, and repurposing vintage clothing, materials, and notions. Our hope is that by this small effort of saving and caring for these vintage garments we can impact the industry even in a micro way so that there is no need for trapping or the harming of animals in the present or future of fashion.
